CONFESSIONS OF A CUSTARD MELON PAN
Writer / Performer - Arisa Yura
Director / Dramaturg - Courtney Stewart
Sound Design - Michael Toisuta
Stage Manager - Gareth Yuen
Scattered memories, lost letters, trembling earth,
sardine trains, sugar overdose, onigiri bento box.
We belong nowhere and everywhere.
Arisa is caught between two worlds, desperately finding her identity and trying to fit in. Within this space between, she navigates through language, life, love and Luke Perry in search of a sense of belonging. Where do you call home and would it be your home forever?
Confessions of A Custard Melon Pan is a bilingual one woman play exploring the complexity, humour and absurdity of a 1.5 generation Australian Japanese diasporic experience that challenges you to question where one’s home truly is.
